OORT Edge: A Complete Setup Guide for Your Deimos Device

OORT Edge is a decentralized network designed to enhance the speed, security, and scalability of OORT DataHub, the data cloud for decentralized AI. By setting up your Deimos I or Deimos II device, you contribute storage and edge compute power to support AI data storage and processing, while earning rewards in return.

This guide will walk you through the steps to get started with your Deimos device.

Step 1: Download OORT Wallet

Ready to get started? Follow these simple steps to download and set up your OORT Wallet:

1. Download the app: Head to oortfoundation.org/wallet and download the OORT Wallet app.
2. Install and create your wallet: Once installed, open the app and follow the instructions to set up your new wallet.
3. Secure your seed phrase: Write down your 12-word seed phrase and store it in a safe place. Remember, if you lose it, no one can recover your wallet.

Step 2: Register

1. Ensure that both your phone and the Edge device are connected to the same local network (LAN) via the same router.
2. Open the OORT Wallet app on your phone, use the search bar on the app’s Browser page and type “OORT DEN” to launch the OORT DEN page.
3. Click on "Add Devices" and select your Edge device to connect.
4. Enter your OORT Wallet password to complete the registration and add the Edge device.

Step 3: Add Collateral

You have two choices for setting up collateral:

• Option 1: Zero Collateral – Earn 15% of the total reward.
• Option 2: Full Collateral – Earn 100% of the total reward, with the option to use OORT tokens for Full Collateral.

Be sure to thoroughly review the OORT Collateral documentation to understand the details of each option.

Once you’ve acquired the necessary OORT tokens, open the OORT Wallet app, navigate to "Browser", and launch theOORT DEN page to submit your collateral.

Gas Fee

When registering an Edge device on the blockchain, you'll need to pay a small amount of $OORT as gas fee.

To fully collateralize your device:

• Deimos I requires 500 $OORT
• Deimos II requires 6,000 $OORT

It's recommended to purchase 501/6,001 $OORT per device, decided by whether it is Deimos I or Deimos II to cover both the collateral and gas fees.
