Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering Steve Liu Joins Computecoin’s Advisory Board

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Steve (Xue) Liu, a fellow of IEEE and the Canadian Academy of Engineering, has joined the Computecoin team as an advisor!

Dr. Liu is a pioneering scholar in the fields of AI, machine learning, IoT, cyber-physical systems, green IT, cloud computing, the Internet and data centers. Dr. Liu, who has published over 380 research papers, was one of the 52 new Fellows inducted into the Canadian Academy of Engineering in June, 2021. The Canadian Academy of Engineering was established in 1987, and today serves as the key institution through which Canada’s preeminent engineers advise the country on matters of the utmost importance to the Canadian nation. In 2020, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) named Dr. Liu a Fellow, the highest membership rank awarded by the Institute. He has been a professor of Computer Science at McGill University since 2007, and a William Dawson Scholar since 2014.

Aside from his academic achievements, Dr. Liu has played a critical role in the development of multiple startups and tech industry leaders as a strategic advisor, consultant and Chief Scientist. Dr. Liu serves as the Vice President and Chief Scientist at Samsung’s Montreal AI Center. He was the Chief Scientist at Tinder Inc. from 2016–2019.

Dr.Liu will join Computecoin’s advisory board and work closely with our Research and Development team to complete a patent portfolio in the field of distributed computing based on blockchain technology and artificial intelligence. Begun as a research project in a university research lab, Computecoin was founded on, and consistently achieves, technological breakthroughs. Our innovative technologies have always served and will continue to serve as the locus that brings our team together. We cannot wait to witness the insight, expertise and passion Dr. Liu will bring to the Computecoin team, and we are excited for the great adventure that awaits us as Computecoin opens a new chapter.
